Downsizing means moving from a larger property to a smaller one. It may be that your circumstances have changed, for example older children moving out of home, and you no longer need as much space as before.

What are the benefits of downsizing?

Whilst downsizing might not be suitable for everyone, there are some benefits to moving to a smaller home.

A smaller home can mean cheaper rent.
Your utility bills can also be cheaper, for example due to having less rooms in your home to heat.
Moving to a smaller home can free up a larger home for other people in the community. Many families throughout the South West are on waiting lists for homes, so making your home available can make a huge difference to people.
