Madron Skate Park
Madron Parish Council near Penzance are currently fundraising for a skate park, giving local residents a new facility to make use of. The Parish Council have been fundraising for over two years, with the project estimated to cost about £215,000.
Around 40% of Madron residents live in LiveWest homes, so LiveWest have taken the decision to provide £15,000 in social value funding. This has helped the project meet the criteria needed for Sport England to match the funding and it can start moving ahead.
The design and builders for the skate park were all on standby if they met the target, and the skate park will be built for the local community before the end of 2025. We are looking forward to seeing the project move forward.
Kenwerthel Court
At the pods in Kenwerthel Court, a day was recently spent gardening and planting some veg and herbs purchased from local garden centre, Falmouth Garden Centre. Colleagues and customers worked together to de-weed a large planter and get ready to be planted. After a little bit of elbow grease, and compost under fingernails, the planter was fully planted, ready to start growing produce. The garden centre also kindly donated a compost bin to allow the customers to begin building up their own compost for further projects.
Drop in at Loggans with community bus
We held a drop in for customers with our Community Investment, Tenancy Sustainment and Housing teams at Loggans Moor in Hayle. Simon, Community Connector, brought the new community bus down to help run the drop in. We were joined by 12 households which was a great turn out, and members of the LiveWest Board and InFocus joined us in the afternoon.
Albert Place gardening
Albert Place customers are growing potatoes and strawberries, they have constructed a mini greenhouse for their strawberries and are looking after all independently.
