As a leading South West housing association owning more than 39,000 homes, LiveWest has a dedicated trades workforce who pride themselves on putting customers at the heart of everything it does and they are looking for new people to help them achieve their goals.

So, if you are an electrician, a gas engineer or a multi-skilled technician, then we're inviting you to chat to us about the benefits of working for the largest housing provider in the South West.

Benefits include the latest tools, high technology vehicles and competitive pay and pension policy but most importantly the opportunity to work in a supportive, social and inclusive team who make a real difference to customers' lives.

We're holding an open morning on 29 July between 7.30am and 10am at Rexel, Components House, Industrial Estate, Vale Lane, Bristol, BS3 5SA with a free bacon baps on offer.

With around 2,700 homes in Bristol, LiveWest has some exciting employment opportunities available across a range of trades in and around the city.

Every single member of staff at LiveWest has a life story - backgrounds, beliefs, commitments, and choices that define who they are and make up a richly woven thread that runs through this very special organisation.

People like Alex Fairbank, who served in the Royal Marines for 12 years, before being supported by us to secure a new career route as an electrician.

Alex joined the Marine corps at the age of 21 and was attached Commando as he embarked on two tours of Afghanistan, a tour of Somalia as well as training stints in Norway, America, Africa and the Middle East.

Yet Alex’s world changed when his partner, Nicola, gave birth to two young daughters Grace, now five, and Robyn, aged three. It was at this juncture that he sought pastures new and ended up retraining and securing a permanent post with LiveWest.

Alex said: “I enjoyed every minute of it, but it was a lifestyle choice to leave the Marines.

“LiveWest has been so good to me, and they were the only ones I wanted to work for.

“A lot of firms want to get the job done as quickly as possible and get on to the next one. But LiveWest is different.

“The attention to detail is second to none and that is why they have got such a good reputation amongst its customers.

“It’s great. I like the work, the hours, and the team spirit. I feel lucky and privileged to be in this position. Lots of people I know would like to come and work for LiveWest.

“The fact that they are so pro-forces resonates with me as well because when you come out of the forces you want someone to give you a chance.”

As an organisation which recently won the Gas Safety and Compliance Initiative of the Year award at the Association of Safety and Compliance Professional awards (ASCP) and the Best Housing Association at the South West Energy Efficiency Awards, LiveWest has a track record for excellence.

And there is also great pride in how diverse, inclusive, and supportive the organisation is with 87% of colleagues feeling fully supported both inside and outside of their work role.

The long-term commitment to staff wellbeing and development is demonstrated by 110 colleagues supported to complete professional qualifications in the last year.

Josh Easterbrook joined us as an apprentice two-and-a-half years ago after studying carpentry at South Devon College.

He has now been promoted to a Multi-Skilled Technician Improver and said: “I have settled into a very good team with lots of knowledgeable tradesman and good management support.”

Lisa David is a Property Delivery Team Manager in the Day-to-Day Response Repairs team, and she thrives on the team dynamic.

Lisa said: “I was originally attracted to LiveWest thanks to recommendations from people who already worked here.

“My favourite part is my team which is fantastic. I love working here because of the family feel.”

Oliver White is another Property Delivery Team Manager in the Responsive Repairs team and has been with us for eight months.

He said: “What attracted me the most was the fantastic morals they have and how they look after their employees.

“I am a firm believer that if you do something you love, then you never work a day in your life.
“I have fantastic relationships with the people I work with, and it is great to look after our residents on a daily basis. I can’t recommend working for LiveWest more.”
