A much-loved family photo has won our Christmas competition after a mum captured what Christmas means to her.
Our resident, Lisa Hopwood, entered a picture featuring her two children, 12-year-old, Jake, and seven-year-old Megan after we launched our Christmas competition giving out four prizes to the best entries showing Christmas spirit.
The photo captures her children in a warm embrace in front of an idyllic Christmas scene including trees, stockings and a fireplace so Lisa thought it may be the ideal picture to enter because it represents the essence of what Christmas means to her, which is family.
Our resident, Lisa Hopwood, said: “I saw the competition on Facebook, so I thought I would enter because it’s always worth a try, isn’t it? So, I decided on this photo because this picture is representing family and that’s what Christmas is all about for us.
“We had the photos taken last year and we had quite a few different family photos taken but this is my favourite because it’s the one that captures two of my children, and we’ve had a few of them printed too.
Lisa, from Stoke-Sub-Hamdon in Somerset, believes the best part of Christmas is spending the day with family and friends while having lots of fun with plenty of food and most importantly, being with family.
So that is why she picked this photo as her favourite to symbolise that, and the mum really appreciates having this memory captured with two people who are very special to her which is now on her wall at home.
She added: “I’m so pleased I’ve won the competition by LiveWest particularly because November was the month that we kept on getting bad luck so it’s nice to have something good like this and just before Christmas too.”
