Plans for 45 new affordable homes in Bodmin have been approved by Cornwall Council.

LiveWest has partnered with regeneration business Countryside Partnerships to deliver the new homes.

Located in Westheath, the new development will include a mixture of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, all with gardens.

The homes have been designed with contemporary materials that reference the local styles found in the area, including natural stone from Yennadon Quarry.

Gareth Jones, our Development Director, said: “We are delighted to be working with Countryside Partnerships South West to ensure that 45 new homes are provided for local people in Bodmin over the coming years.

"It demonstrates our commitment to working with Cornwall Council to help address housing need across the county. The delivery of the homes is made possible because of the financial support provided to the project by Homes England as part of our Strategic Funding Programme with the government agency.”

The new site builds on the partnership between LiveWest and Countryside. Across the South West, we have already provided more than 300 affordable homes together over the last three years.

Peter Sadler, Managing Director Countryside Partnerships South West, said: “By working in partnership with LiveWest and with support from Cornwall Council, we’ve been able to turn this site into a 100% affordable housing development, which is fantastic news for local people living in the area.

"Now, work can get underway and we expect to welcome the first new residents next year.”
