August update on the expansion of our In-House Maintenance Services

We are insourcing our fire equipment servicing.

Over the last six months we have been working on a project to expand our In-House Maintenance Services (IMS) team. This will allow us to deliver better service and value for money for our customers.

Part of this project involves bringing our fire equipment servicing in-house. Previously, all fire equipment servicing was delivered by Briggs and JLA. However, from 4 July 2023 we are now completing this work in-house. 

Fire equipment being serviced in-house includes fire alarms, emergency lighting and AOVs (smoke vents).

We will have two small contracts in place for more specialist equipment in homes such as dry risers, mist/sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers. This work will be provided by Chubb and Harmony.

Customers can expect to see the same frequency of testing and servicing of fire equipment, in line with our Fire Safety Standard. They may also notice some familiar faces, as four of the engineers from Briggs and JLA have joined our in-house team at LiveWest. 

This is the next step towards providing a single in-house service across LiveWest which, once complete, will ensure that we are providing the same high-level service for customers across all the areas in which we operate.
