A creative eight-year-old from Falmouth who loves to create Christmas art is one of the winners of our festive competition.
Cara Woodman entered her son Zachary’s Christmas drawing into our Christmas Competition.
We asked our residents to capture what Christmas means to them by sharing a picture with us. Our residents across the South West were able to submit a photo, while Cara’s first thought was to enter of one of her son’s Christmas drawings.
The eight-year-old loves to draw, and he has done quite a few Christmas drawings for fun this Christmas as he gets excited for Santa to arrive.
With Christmas just around the corner, a mouse dressed in a Santa’s outfit won him one of the prizes with a voucher on the way to them.
8-year-old Zachary said: “It’s really exciting to win and the drawing is of one of my favourite toys, a Christmas mouse called Holly!
“My favourite thing about Christmas is spending time with my family and having a roast dinner. I love drawing as it’s calming for my mind, so I really enjoy it.”
Zachary enjoys spending his free time drawing and even added the detail of festive Ivy to the mouse’s head.
His mum is very proud of him and thinks the festive season is the perfect time for him to be creative, something he appreciates doing.
His mum Cara, 37, said: “My son loves drawing especially this time of year because he gets to do lots of Christmas pictures, so I wanted to enter him to spread a bit of Christmas joy.
“He’s drawn a really great version of the Grinch which is now on our fridge. But his room is covered in drawings and he’s so excited now it’s so close to Christmas!
“It’s great when children get involved in Christmas with crafts and this sort of thing and it’s something a bit different for us to share.
“Christmas means to me spending time with my little boy and seeing all the magical things that he does and how he enjoys creating things. It’s really lovely for him to win so thank you.”
