I'm on Universal Credit but now I'm being told I'm in arrears

As Universal Credit is paid in arrears and direct to the claimant, you may find your rent account is showing arrears. You will need to set up a payment arrangement with your income officer. You can find out your Income Officer's contact details here.

You will need to pay your ongoing rent and something towards your arrears so your account will become in credit. This may take some time but LiveWest will work with you to ensure this is affordable for you. You should have received a two-week run of housing benefit to your rent account when you applied for Universal Credit so, please check with your income officer if this is showing on your account. If there are any issues our Tenancy Sustainment team can help you to resolve this. Click here to get further support and advice from our Tenancy Sustainment team.
